Nintendo Stock Dips as Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sales Underperform Predecessors
Nintendo's shares (NTDOF) declined 2.75% on Monday following the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A sales figures. The game sold 5.8 million copies during its launch weekend, securing fifth place in the mainline Pokémon series but falling short of recent Switch-era titles like Scarlet & Violet (10 million) and Legends: Arceus (6.5 million).
European sales mirrored the trend, marking the franchise's weakest launch since 2018's Let's Go entries. While the title topped regional unit sales, it placed second in revenue—a sign of potential franchise fatigue exacerbated by dual-platform availability on Switch and Switch 2.
